The 18th Annual Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival November 3rd, 2007
Each year the City of Bostwick sponsors a festival to raise money for the continuing restoration of the Susie Agnes Hotel. The hotel was built in 1902 by the founder of Bostwick, John Bostwick, Sr. Bostwick is a small farming town with a rare operating cotton gin. Bostwick is located in Morgan County on Highway 83 between Madison and Monroe. There will be designated parking and a $2.00 fee. This is an attempt to control traffic and to provide safe and convenient parking. There will be wagons pulled by tractors to shuttle people downtown to the festival. Watch for signs for directions. The festival features a Parade, 4 Mile Run, 1 Mile Fun Run, 50+ Arts and Crafts vendors, Entertainment, Food, T-shirts and the opportunity to tour the famous cotton gin. Hwy 83 will be closed through Bostwick from 8:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m. Detour - Price Mill to Paxson Dairy to High Shoals from Madison and from Monroe take High Shoals to Paxson Dairy to Price Mill.
